Steve was appointed CEO of MTR UK in October 2020 and oversees maximising opportunities across rail, property and infrastructure in the emerging post COVID-19 business landscape.
Steve previously led the award-winning train operating company MTR Elizabeth line as Managing Director, since its inception in 2014. Achieving first-place sector status for measurements as wide-ranging as on-time running, safety, workplace diversity and customer service, Steve has been credited as the driving force behind their escalating success story.
With the foundations of his 30-year career in British Rail and experience including senior posts at Chiltern Railways, the Arriva Group and London Overground Rail Operations Limited (LOROL), Steve’s mid-career legacy demonstrates his ability to bring dynamic growth to the industry through focusing on the customer and driving credibility.

Alison is an accomplished industry leader with over two decades of experience as an HR professional. Her career spans a range of sectors and disciplines including rail and other safety-critical industries.
As an influential leader and strategic thinker, Alison’s pragmatic approach delivers tangible business benefits. With extensive employee and industrial relations experience, Alison has successfully built robust and enduring relationships with Trade Unions, with an exceptional record of zero industrial disputes at MTR. She inspires others with her inclusive leadership style, drawing on her passion to advance industry diversity as Chair of Rail Delivery Group’s (RDG) Diversity Inclusion Steering Group.
Alison holds a Postgraduate MA in Personnel and Development and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

Andy is a Chartered Management Accountant with over 20 years’ experience across a variety of senior financial roles. Having been with MTR for over 14 years, he has developed in-depth knowledge and experience of rail activities, spanning operating businesses in the UK and Europe.
Andy was Finance Lead on the original MTR Crossrail bid (later to become MTR Elizabeth line), and after successfully winning the contract, he led the Finance function, helping to mobilise and build the business from scratch. Andy acted as Interim European Finance Director of MTR prior to becoming Chief Financial Officer of MTR UK in October 2020.
Andy brings a strong commercial and strategic focus to ensure that businesses are sustainable, high-performing and primed for future growth.

Graham joined MTR UK in April 2022, with a remit to grow the rail business through scheme development and acquisition. Prior to joining MTR Graham worked in a variety of roles in the industry, in both the public and private sectors, always focused on expanding and improving railways.
As Business Development Director at the long-term investment-led Chiltern Railways franchise, Graham was instrumental in devising, financing and delivering the extension of the route to Oxford, including the new stations at Bicester Village and Oxford Parkway.
Graham has a degree in geography from Oxford University and joined the industry in 1996 as a graduate trainee.

John is a Chartered Surveyor with over 20 years’ experience of complex large-scale mixed-use property development, including schemes incorporating railway stations.
John joined MTR in 2018 to expand MTR Corporation’s renowned Rail + Property model into the UK.
He plays a key role in MTR’s joint venture with award-winning property developer Sellar (which delivered the Shard), as they work with Network Rail and other stakeholders on plans to deliver a transformative redevelopment of Liverpool Street Station.
John was previously Development Director for Muse Developments (part of Morgan Sindall), worked for Kier on their Solum JV with Network Rail and prior to that, ran developments for ING Real Estate, part of the Dutch bank.

Richard has extensive experience in UK railway operations and major projects. Previously serving as Head of Civil Engineering for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (subsequently High Speed 1), Richard took it from construction to operation, then ran it as Network Rail General Manager for five years.
Following HS1, as Director of Asset Management, then Route Managing Director for Network Rail on the Anglia route, Richard led delivery of rail transport infrastructure for Stratford at the 2012 Olympics.
As MTR Elizabeth line’s Programme Director from 2017, Richard contributed to the wider Crossrail project as Chair of the Trial Running Mobilisation Board. In 2021, Richard became MTR UK’s Infrastructure Director, responsible for developing MTR’s rail infrastructure capability. He led MTREL’s support of the Crossrail project’s final critical stages, including the opening of the central section of the Elizabeth line.
