Global Operations Beyond the UK and Hong Kong
In the Nordic region, MTR runs the Stockholm Metro (since 2009), the Stockholm Pendeltåg commuter railway (since 2016) and provides open access MTRX services between Stockholm and Gothenburg (since 2015). Service for the Mälartåg regional train service will commenced in December 2021. MTR also runs MTR Tech and Emtrain which perform rolling stock maintenance.
Around the world, MTR operates lines in Beijing, Shenzhen and Hangzhou in Mainland China; is lead shareholder in a joint venture operating the Melbourne train system and led a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) consortium which delivered and operates the Sydney Metro North West Line in Australia.
