Celebrating one year of operations on the Elizabeth line

Congratulations and thank you to our colleagues at MTR Elizabeth line who are celebrating one year since the Elizabeth line officially opened today! Their exceptional work operating the award-winning line on behalf of TfL has not only been recognised by the industry, but more importantly by our customers.

In just 12 months, MTR Elizabeth line have established themselves as a leading UK train operator. Their unwavering commitment to outstanding service, innovation, safety, and performance has garnered the trust and loyalty of customers across London and beyond, as evident in our remarkable journey numbers.

In just one year, we’ve carried over 150 million journeys, with around 600,000 journeys now being made each weekday. The Elizabeth line is also the highest-rated mode within the TfL family and sees some of the lowest customer complaints in the UK rail industry.

MTR Elizabeth line has received over nine awards and have passed over 200,000 passenger services. We now make up one-in-six rail journeys across the UK and are proud to be the single busiest rail line in the UK.
